Pass the Torch
The torch flame has long been a symbol of
life, purification, endurance and remembrance. Around the world,
Eternal Flame memorials commemorate the lives and achievements of great
individuals. At the Olympics, the torch
represents the passing of the spirit of peace and athletic achievement.
CGN has chosen to use the torch to symbolize our responsibility and commitment to carry the light of Christ’s grace and truth so our grandchildren will know Christ personally, follow Christ wholeheartedly, and faithfully “pass the torch” to the next generation.
In keeping with that goal, CGN’s PASS THE TORCH
campaign -- a year long effort concluding on Grandparents’ Day,
September 2008 – is endeavoring to raise $100,000 to support our vision
of providing resources
and opportunities that will assist grandparents
as they “pass the torch” to future generations. Every
gift to the PASS
THE TORCH fund makes it possible for CGN to fulfill its
mission.

GrandCamp 2008 Scholarships

Scholarships to CGN’s MK GrandCamps make it possible for military kids who have a deployed parent, and their grandparents, to attend camp without charge.

Scholarships to CGN’s regular GrandCamps assist grandparents with limited financial resources.

Expand and Develop Resource Network

This network provides resources for grandparents who unexpectedly find it necessary to raise their grandchildren.

Legacy Conferences, Workshops and Seminars

Providing grandparents with an understanding of the important roles they play in their grandkids lives.

When God blesses us, it is appropriate that we pass those blessings on to others. Reflect for a moment on the ways God has blessed you. We all enjoy some measure of blessing of time, financial resources, wisdom gained from life experiences, family and much more. Now, think about those who come after you and use your blessings to Pass The Torch. In doing so, you fulfill one of the most vital roles of Christian grandparenting… passing on those things that will help those who follow to run with perseverance the race that is marked out for them (Heb. 12:1)!
