Prayer Suggestions for GrandparentsThe prayer of a righteous man (grandparent) is powerful and effective. James 5:16b A Grandchild's Heartby Lillian Penner, CGN National Prayer Coordinator This month our grandchildren are excited about Valentine’s Day. Because so much is focused on the heart, this is a wonderful time to talk about their heart, the wellspring of life and hope. I thought I would share some verses from the God’s Word in the book of Proverbs that we could use in our prayers for them. 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understand. 7:3 Keep (God’s) their words always in your heart. Tie them around your neck. 14:33 Wisdom in enshrined in an understanding heart. 15:13 A glad heart makes a happy face; a broken heart crushes the spirit. 15:30 A cheerful look brings joy to the heart. 17:22 A cheerful heart is good medicine. 22:17 Listen to the words of the wise; apply your heart to my instruction. 23:16 Yes, my heart will thrill when you speak what is right and just. 23:19 My child, listen and be wise. Keep your heart on the right course. 23:26 O my son, give me your heart, May your eyes delight in my ways of wisdom. 27:19 As a face is reflected in water, so the heart reflects the person. Above all, this ought to be the centerpiece of our prayers for our grandchildren – “Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do.” Proverbs 4:23 ♥ Happy Valentine’s Day ♥ © 2008 Lillian Penner
