Prayer Suggestions for Grandparents

The prayer of a righteous man (grandparent) is powerful and effective.  James 5:16b

Temptations

by Lillian Penner, CGN National Prayer Coordinator

Jesus tells us in John 10:10, “The thief (enemy) comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I am come that they might have life and have it to the full.”

The world (enemy) is flirting with our grandchildren doing everything possible to steal their hearts and their minds. Sometimes he is very subtle, but worldly influences are very strong.

  • Pray that our grandchildren will be intentional and predetermined in their walk with the Lord.

  • Pray that when a sudden temptation poses a character question, they will have true conviction in that area, so they don’t have to consider how they will answer it at the time.

  • Pray that they will be self-controlled. Standing firm in their faith. Resisting the enemy (devil). I Peter 5:8, 9

Pray also that our younger children will develop an awareness of God’s love and His presence with them.

Our prayers will make a difference in the lives of our grandchildren.
