Prayer Suggestions for Grandparents
The
prayer of a
righteous man (grandparent) is powerful
and effective. James 5:16b
Thanksgiving

PSALM
100:4, 5
Enter his
gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him
and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Thanksgiving is a good time to encourage our
grandchildren to be thankful.
Pray they will have a grateful heart.
Talk with them about the many things they have that
other children don’t have, making them aware of children who are less
fortunate then them.
Send them a Thanksgiving card or call them to let
them know how thankful you are for them and you are praying for them.
For many years during dessert at our family Thanksgiving
dinner we have shared something for which we are thankful. Each person
gets a lighted candle with his or her dessert. After they share, they
get to blow out their candle. From the youngest to the oldest, each one
shares for what they are thankful. It has become a tradition and a
meaningful family experience.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
